About the Palmer Alumnae Leadership Council

Palmer Society Alumnae Leadership Council is an organization for Palmer Society Alumnae with a mission of developing community through communication, society, and service. Our vision is to form an independent organization- a good ol’ girls club for the 21st century, focused on alumnae needs and projects. In addition to determining our Mission and Strategic Plan, we’ve identified 5 key areas of alumnae interest: Community Building, Community Service, Networking and Mentoring, Publicity and Communications, and Scholarship and Fundraising.

About Us

The Palmer Alumnae Leadership Council formed in Fall of 2009 in response to the Palmer Alumnae Endowed Scholarship Campaign. This effort called for raising $50,000 by Fall 2014 and included a matching gift-challenge of $20,000. Until that time, no Women’s society at Whittier College had ever endowed a scholarship for its undergraduate members; this opportunity created a new fundraising challenge as well as called upon alumnae members to come together as a team. The group held its first activity with the Scholarship Tea in July 2010 where alumnae volunteers were recruited to support this effort. The Palmer Alumnae Leadership Council guided the Palmer Society to meeting its goal of endowing a scholarship for undergraduate Palmer Society members in Fall 2011, a full three years ahead of schedule.

The Palmer Alumnae Leadership Council has since gone forward building foundation for alumnae to connect and support our Palmer Sisters of all ages. We welcome all alumnae to join us in adding value to our Palmer Community.
